Itinerary: Arrival Day Vancouver, BC
Vancouver is a beautiful city surrounded by mountains and water. Situated on the west coast of Canada, it is a city with breathtaking views and scenery, cosmopolitan in its make up and lifestyle, and gateway to the Pacific Rim. Since Expo '86 Vancouver has made its mark on the world map and is known for its international flavour combined with an outdoor lifestyle. Where else in the world can you ski in the morning and sail in the afternoon? Descending into Vancouver International Airport is an experience in itself. When your plane slowly glides down over the mountain tops you will catch a glimpse of this beautiful city. Arriving at the airport our limousine {carrying a BC Float Plane Safari sign) is waiting to take you to your hotel. The short trip from the airport to your hotel drives you through a beautiful part of the City, down Granville Street {described by many as a chic, affluent shopping strip) over the Granville Street Bridge, where you will experience your first view down the inlet into the mountains. Downtown you will be staying in one of the distinctive 5 star Canadian Pacific Hotels, either The Vancouver Hotel or The Waterfront Hotel. Depending on the time of your arrival, you can take an easy stroll down Robson Street with its many shops, cafe's and terraces, or just walk to the "Seven Sails", our Convention Centre with all around terraces and a breathtaking view to the mountains. At 6.30 p.m. there will be a cocktail party in honour of all the guests attending this exclusive float safari in one of the executive suites at the Hotel Vancouver. There you can get acquainted with your travelling companions and escort staff. Following the cocktail party we will enjoy a gourmet dinner, specially prepared by one of the top chefs of Vancouver. We would suggest you retire to your rooms early as tomorrow will be the first of your Float Plane Safari Adventure.
